Supplication on Shab-e-Baraat

Supplication on Shab-e-Baraat

Allah, the Most Gracious says;-

And O dear Prophet (PBUH), when My bondmen question you concerning Me, then surely I am close; I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he calls on Me, so they must obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may attain guidance. (Surah Baqarah 2:186)

And your Lord proclaimed, “Pray to Me, I will accept; indeed those who stay conceited towards worshipping Me, will enter hell in disgrace." (Surah Momin 40:60)

Numan bin Bashir reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Du'a (supplication) is worship." (Abu Dawud) Narrated Abu Hurairah that Allah’s Apostle said ‘Whoever does not supplicate to Allah, then Allah is angry with him.’ (Bukhari in ‘Adab al-Mufrad’, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, al-Hakim, Ahmad, Ibn Abi Shaybah, al-Bayhaqi, Tabaraani.)

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah reported: The Allah’s Apostle (PBUH) said, "A slave becomes nearest to his Lord when he is in prostration. So increase supplications while prostrating." (Muslim).

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah reported: The Allah’s Apostle (PBUH) made many supplications which we did not memorize. We said to him: "O Allah’s Apostle! You have made many supplications of which we do not remember anything." He said, "Shall I tell you a comprehensive prayer? Say: (translated) “O Allah, I beg to You the good which Your Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) begged of You; and I seek refuge in You from the evil where from Your Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) sought refuge. You are the One from Whom help is sought and Your is the responsibility to communicate (the truth). There is no power or strength except with Allah the Most High, the Great.'" (At-Tirmidhi)

Sayyiduna Abu Darda' reported: The Allah’s Apostle (PBUH) said, "The supplication of a Muslim for his (Muslim) brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Whenever he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: "Ameen! May it be for you, too'." (Muslim).

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin As-Samit said: The Allah’s Apostle (PBUH) said, "Whenever a Muslim supplicates Allah, He accepts his supplication or averts any similar kind of trouble from him until he prays for something sinful

Fasting in Month of Shabaan

Fasting in Month of Shabaan

The Holy Prophet Used To Fast Most Of The Month In Sha`baan.

Sayyidah Ayeshah Siddiqah said, “Never did the Allah’s Apostle fast a complete month except for Ramadaan .  And  I  have  never  seen him fasting more  in  any  month  than  in Sha’baan.”(Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasai Tirmidhi and others)

Narrated Sayyidah Ayeshah Siddiqah :The  month  most  liked  by  the Allah’s Apostle for  fasting  was Sha'baan. He then joined it with Ramadaan. (Abu Dawud)

What Is The Importance Of The Month Of Sha' Baan

What Is The Importance Of The Month Of Sha' Baan

To  understand  the  importance  of  this  night,  we  first  present  the  importance  of  the  ENTIRE MONTH  OF  SHA’BAAN,  so  that  readers  may  understand  that  this it is  indeed  a  special  month, which demands that we increase our worship in any way, during its entire period.

Sha’baan Is A Special, Meritorious Month

Sha`baan precedes  the  month  of Ramadaan,  and  is  a  harbinger  of  the  great  mercy  that descends upon the believers during Ramadaan. It is a month where we need to “get ready” for the  full  month  of  fasting,  extra  Prayers  at  night  (Taraweeh),  increased  recitation  of  the  Holy
Qur’an and training of the self (ego).

The Holy  Prophet Mohammed is  reported  to  have  said: "Sha'ban  is  my  month, Rajab  is Allah's month and Ramadaan is the month of my Ummah. Sha'ban is expiator, while Ramadaan is the purifier."(Khashful Khafa)

Once the Holy Prophet was asked: "Oh Allah’s Apostle, in which month other than Ramadaan is fasting the most meritorious?
” Our Prophet answered “Fasting performed in Sha’baan to show respect to Ramadaan”.(Tirmidhi)

Sha’baan  is  one  of  the  meritorious  months  for  which  of Holy Prophet made  special  efforts  and increased his worship.

This fact in itself proves that to increase worship on special occasions or special days of mercy from Allah, is not an innovation, but the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet.

Nafil Salaah to be read on Shab-e-Baraat

Nafil Salaah to be read on Shab-e-Baraat

Basharat of Jannat : Sayyiduna Rasulullah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam) is reported to have said that Allah Ta’ala instructs and assigns 100 angels to the person who performs 100 Nafil Salaahs on this auspicious night – 30 of which will bring the good news of Jannat, 30 angels to protect one from the Azaab (Punishment) of Dozakh (Hell), 30 to remove all misfortunes and miseries of this world and 10 angels to protect one from Shaitaan.

The Guardian of Imaan : After performing Maghrib Salaah, read 2 rakaahs of Nafil. In the first rakaah, after Surah Fatiha, recite Surah Ikhlaas 3 times and Surah Falaq once.In the second rakaah, after Surah Fatiha, recite Surah Ikhlaas 3 times and Surah Naas once. After Salam, make Du’a and ask Allah to protect your Imaan.

Barakah in Rizq : After Maghrib Salaah, read 2 rakaahs of Nafil. Thereafter, read Surah Yasin once, Surah Ikhlaas 21 times and Du’a Nisf Shabaan once. Then, make Du’a for Barakah in Rozi and ask Allah not to make you dependent on anyone.

Long Life filled with Piety : After Maghrib Salaah, read 2 rakaahs of Nafil. Read Surah Yasin once. Then read Du’a Nisf Shabaan once. Thereafter, make Du’a for long life filled with piety and righteousness.

Reward for ten thousand good Deeds : Anyone who performs 20 rakaahs of Nafil after Maghrib in such a way that after Surah Fatiha, recites Surah Ikhlaas 10 times in every rakaah, will be rewarded abundantly by Allah Ta’ala, and ten thousand good deeds will be recorded in his Amal Namaa (Book of Deeds).

Death with complete Faith/Imaan : Anyone who performs 2 rakaahs of Nafil on the last Friday of Shabaan between Maghrib and Esha will die with full faith and Imaan. After Surah Fatiha, one should read Ayatul Kursi once, Surah Ikhlaas 10 times and Surah Falaq and Surah Naas once in both rakaahs. If the person who reads Nafil in such a way dies until the next Shabaan, will die with Imaan, Inshaa-Allah.

The performing of Salaatul Tasbeeh on this night is also very virtuous.
