How to Make Dua That Improves Your Life | Special Islamic Dua

How to Make Dua That Improves Your Life | Special Islamic Dua

Do you want to improve your life? Do you want to be a happier person? Do you want the satisfaction of knowing the future is going to be better than the past?

Of course you do. We all want better lives. And the great thing is, we Muslims have a “secret” weapon to get this improved life. You know what I’m going to say.

It’s dua. Yes, our duas (supplication) can impact our lives immediately. Why? Because it’s direct communication with our Lord, Allah the Mighty and Majestic. So if you’re not happy with the way things are going in your life, I encourage you to turn to dua.

However, simply begging Allah to “give me this” and “give me that” may seem futile if not done correctly. Therefore, I’d like to list a few tidbits and ideas that will improve the way you make dua, and bring you closer to Allah.

Your Intention Must Be Good

While this may seem obvious, it may be worth noting that for our duas to be accepted, we should have good intentions. In other words, we shouldn’t make dua against someone else simply because they wronged us or have upset us.

We especially should be careful about making dua against our family members. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said in an authentic hadith that Allah answers our prayers so long as we do not seek to break family ties.

Sometimes our family angers us and make us want to do and say evil things. When these things happen, it is important that we have patience and not ask Allah to curse them or bring some punishment upon them. Perhaps if we are merciful and forgiving to our family, Allah may be merciful and forgiving to us.

We should also refrain from asking Allah for forbidden things. We should not make dua for alcohol, or pork, or illegal sexual intercourse. Once again, all of this may seem obvious, but I believe it’s important enough to mention anyway.

MUST READ: Special Essential Dua, Supplications, Prayers in Islam for Daily Life

Follow the Prophet’s Advice

Assuming that you’re asking for something good and halal (allowed in Islam), the next thing to keep in mind is to make dua the way the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us how to make dua.

Please read this beautiful Hadith (tradition) from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

The supplication of every one of His slaves will be granted so long as he does not get impatient and says “I supplicated my Lord again and again but I do not think my prayers will be answered.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

With this in mind, here is a short list of things you should make sure are in place when making dua:

Praise Allah –
Whatever it is you want in life, you must still be thankful and grateful for what Allah has already given you. Allah rewards gratitude and punishes ingratitude. So before you before you begin asking Allah for a bunch of things, make sure you begin by thanking and praising Him.

Send Peace and Blessing upon the Messenger of Allah –
After praising Allah, the next you should do is ask Allah to bless Prophet Muhammad. The Prophet was the best of creation. So ask Allah to bless him and earn a little rewards before asking for things for yourself.

Supplicate with emotion –
Your duas shouldn’t be dry, formulaic, robotic acts of worship. Instead, ask Allah for what you want with determination, desire, and devotion. Pray to Allah with the earnestness He deserves. It’s even better if you can cry while making dua. And if you cannot cry, then make yourself cry.

Have patience –
One thing that makes our duas get rejected by Allah is losing patience. A person may ask Allah for something, and they don’t get it in the timeframe they want. So they get impatient and say things like: “I made dua for this, and Allah did not give it to me.” This impatience makes us lose all the blessing of our dua.
Be specific – Don’t say things like “Oh Allah, you know what I want, please give it to me.” Allah IS all hearing and all knowing, but we should articulate the specific things we want Him to give us. Ask for it directly and don’t say things like “If You will” when speaking to Allah. He will do what He wills anyway. So speak with conviction and the expectation that Allah will answer you.

Some Final Tips

There are many little things we can do to make our duas more impactful. Here are some brief pointers to keep in mind:

Pray for your parents when you make dua.

Pray for another Muslim in their absence without them knowing.

Make wudu before making dua.

Make dua when it’s raining.

Make dua in the last moments of daylight on Fridays.

Use authentic duas from the Quran and sunnah in Arabic (though
it’s perfectly okay to make dua in your native tongue also).

Call upon Allah using the word “Rabbee (My Lord).”

Call upon Allah by His names (Ar-Rahman, Al-Ghafur, etc.)

Ask Allah based upon some good deed you’ve done in the past.

Inshallah, these ideas will help your duas become more meaningful and in turn, Allah will bless you with an improved life. May Allah accept all of your good supplications. Ameen!

Sunnah Of fasting as per hadith

Sunnah Of fasting as per hadith

SUNNAH OF FASTING

We should make sure that we eat and drink something at suhoor, and that we delay it until just before the adhaan of Fajr. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Have suhoor, for in suhoor there is blessing (barakah).” (Reported by al -Bukhaari, Fath, 4/139). “Suhoor is blessed food, and it involves being different from the people of the Book. What a good suhoor for the believer is dates.” (Reported by Abu Dawood, no. 2345; Saheeh al- Targheeb, 1/448).

Not delaying iftaar or Hastening to break the Fast, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The people will be fine so long as they do not delay iftaar.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, Fath, 4/198).

Breaking one's fast in the manner described in the hadeeth narrated by Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him): “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to break his fast with fresh dates before praying; if fresh dates were not available, he would eat (dried) dates; if dried dates were not available, he would have a few sips of water.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 3/79 and others. He said it is a ghareeb hasan hadeeth. Classed as saheeh in al-Irwa’, no. 922).

After iftaar, reciting the words reported in the hadeeth narrated by Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with them both), according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), when he broke his fast, would say:

“Dhahaba al-zama’, wa’btallat al-‘urooq, wa thabat al-ajru in sha Allaah"
The thirst is gone, the veins are moistened and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.
(Reported by Abu Dawood, 2/765; its isnaad was classed as hasan by al-Daaraqutni, 2/185).
Not allowing oneself to be provoked, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If someone fights him or insults him, he should say, ‘I am fasting, I am fasting.’”  (Reported by al-Bukhaari and others. Al-Fath, no. 1894) One reason for this is to remind himself, and another reason is to remind his adversary. But anyone who looks at the conduct of many of those who fast will see something quite different. It is essential to exercise selfcontrol and be calm, but we see the opposite among crazy drivers who speed up when they
hear the adhaan for Maghrib.

Being generous by sharing knowledge, giving money, using one’s position of authority or physical strength to help others, and having a good attitude. Al-Bukhaari and Muslim reported that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was the most generous of people [in doing good], and he was most generous of all in Ramadaan when Jibreel met with him, and he used to meet him every night in Ramadaan and teach him the Qur’aan. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was more generous in doing good than a blowing wind.”  (Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, no. 6). How can people exchange generosity for stinginess and action for laziness, to the extent that they do not do their work properly and do not treat one another properly, and they use fasting as an excuse for all this.

Combining fasting with feeding the poor is one of the means of reaching Paradise, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “In Paradise there are rooms whose outside can be seen from the inside and the inside can be seen from the outside. Allaah has prepared them for those who feed the poor, who are gentle in speech, who fast regularly and who pray at night when people are asleep.”  (Reported by Ahmad 5/343; Ibn Khuzaymah, no. 2137. Al-Albaani said in his footnote, its isnaad is hasan because of other corroborating reports). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives food to a fasting person with which to break his fast, will have a reward equal to his, without it detracting in the slightest from the reward of the fasting person.”  (Reported by al -Tirmidhi, 3/171; Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1/451). Shaykh al-Islam [Ibn Taymiyah] (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “What is meant is that he should feed him until he is satisfied.” (Al-Ikhtiyaaraat al-Fiqhiyyah, p. 109).

A number of the pious predecessors (may Allaah have mercy on them) preferred the poor over themselves when feeding them at the time of iftaar. Among these were ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar, Maalik ibn Deenaar, Ahmad ibn Hanbal and others. ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar would not break his fast unless there were orphans and poor people with him.
Ask forgiveness to Almighty Allah

Ask forgiveness to Almighty Allah

It is a must for the all Muslim to pray for forgiveness to Almighty Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to pray for forgiveness one hundred times every day and night.

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I ask Allaah for forgiveness one hundred times a day.”
Narrated by Muslim (2702).

And Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “By Allaah, I ask Allaah for forgiveness and I repent to Him more than seventy times every day.”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (6307).

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: We used to count the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saying in a single gathering one hundred times: Rabb ighfir li wa tubb ‘alayya innaka anta al-Tawwaab al-Raheem (O Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Merciful).
Narrated by Abu Dawood (1516) and al-Tirmidhi (3430)

Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I never saw anyone say “Astighfir Allaah wa atoobu ilayh (I ask Allaah for forgiveness and I repent to him)” more than the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
Narrated by al-Nasaa’i in al-Sunan al-Kubra (6/118).

One of the best forms of seeking forgiveness is by reading the dua which is commonly known as Sayyidul Istighfar.

“O Allah! You are my Cherisher. There is no deity except You. You have created me and I am Your servant and as far as possible, I abide by my solemn promise and covenant (which I made to You). I seek Your protection against the consequences of my wrongdoings. I fully acknowledge the grace You have bestowed upon me and I confess my faults. So pardon me my sins as none besides You can pardon sins.”

The Prophet, Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam, added, “If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it and dies before the morning he will be from the people of Paradise.”

When is Ramadan in 2012 ?

When is Ramadan in 2012 ?

Ramadan (Ramzan) 2012 will be Celebrated on 20th July 2012 (Friday)

Ramadan is the ninth lunar month in the Islamic calendar. Submitters (Muslims) all over the world fast during this month from the beginning of dawn to sunset. During fasting, Submitters abstain from eating, drinking and sexual activity as commanded by God in the Quran (2:187).

Like all other practices in Submission, the practice of fasting during the lunar month of Ramadan has been in existence since the time of Abraham. Full details about fasting are given in the Quran in chapter 2 verses 183 to 187.

How to perform Salat (Namaz)

How to perform Salat (Namaz)

Watch videos on Namaz

Step 1
Start with a sincere intention to perform the prayers purely for the sake of GOD alone. Say to yourself (in any language) that you intend to offer this Salat [Fajr (Morning), Zuhr (Noon), Asr (Afternoon), Maghrib (Sunset) or Isha (Night) Prayer] and the number of rakats (example- "I intend to offer two Rikat of Fajr prayer for GOD").

This posture is called qiyam (Standing) and it is assumed after having made the intention to pray. Raising both hands up to the ears (palms facing the Qiblah"Allah u Al-kabeer" ("Allah is the greatest") ("ALLAH sab se badaa hai" ) is said.

Step 2
Next this position is assumed by holding the left hand with the right hand on top and following prayer (al-fatihah) is recited:
Al-Fatihah"Bismillah i rrahman i erraheem. Al humdo lil-lahi rab-bil al ala-meen. Arrahman i rraheem. Maliki yaum i eddeen. Iyyaka nabudu wa iyyaka nasta een. Ihdinas sirata almustaqeem. Siratal lazhina anamta alaihim, ghairil maghdubi alaihim, wa la adhdhaal leen."
"In the Name of GOD, The Gracious, The Merciful. Praise be to GOD, Lord of the Worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship, and you alone we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path, the path of those on whom you have blessed, not of those who have deserved wrath, And nor of the strayers."

Step 3
Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer"(the back & leg should be perpendicular to each other) this position is assumed as shown in the figure. This position is called ruku (bowing) and the prayers as given are recited (three times).
"Subhana rabbiya al azeem"
"Glorified is my Lord, the Great"
" Mera Rab (yaani ALLAH) her aib(burrayee) se paak hai , azmat waalaa hai ."

Step 4
Then start to stand up saying,
"Samee Allahoo Layman Hamidah"

“Allah listens to him who praises Him"  ("ALLAH TAALA ne uski dua sun li jis ne Us ki taareef ki")

 and then

 - "Rabbana Lakal Hamd"

Start to say Samee when leaving Rookh (bowing poster) and end with Hameedah when you are fully errect. Wait a little.

Then having taken this position the second prayer is said: Say; "Allah u Al-kabeer"

Step 5

This position is called sujood (prostration). Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer" ("GOD is the greatest") one prostrates as shown and then the prayer below is said (three times).
"Subhana rubbiyal a'ala"
"Glory to GOD, the Exalted"
"Mera rab her aib(burrayee) se paak , sab se Buland hai"
.

Step 6
Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer" ("GOD is the greatest") and rising from the Sujood position.

Step 7

Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer" ("GOD is the greatest") the sujood position is re-assumed and the prayer below is recited (three times).

"Subhana rubbiyal a'ala"
"Glory to GOD, the Exalted"

This completes one rakat.

Step 8
Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer" ("GOD is the greatest") this position of qiyam is assumed once again to begin the second rakah, and the following prayer is recited:
  1. Al-Fatihah.

Step 9

Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer", this position is assumed as shown in the figure. This position is called ruku and the prayers as given are recited (three times).
"Subhana rabbiya al azeem"
"Glorified is my Lord, the Great"

Step 10

While going back to qiyam position the first prayer, as given below, is said. Then having taken this position prayer the second is said:
"Samia Allah u liman hamidah"

"Allah listens to him who praises Him"
"Rabbana wa laka al hamd"

"Our Lord, praise be for you only"
Or just say; "Allah u Al-kabeer"

Step 11

This position is called sujood. Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer" ("GOD is the greatest") one prostrates as shown and then the prayer below is said (three times).

"Subhana rubbiyal a'ala"

"Glorified is my Lord, the Exalted"

Step 12

Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer" ("GOD is the greatest") and rising from the sujood position.

Step 13

Saying "Allah u Al-kabeer" ("GOD is the greatest") the sujood position is re-assumed and the prayer below is said (three times).

"Subhana rubbiyal a'ala"

"Glory to GOD, the Exalted"

Step 14
In this posture the following is to be recited:
"Tashahud"
Ashehadu alla ilaha illa Allah.
" I testify that there is no god but GOD"

Step 15
Having said the above mentioned prayers, turning the face to the right. This following prayer is read:
"Assalam u a'laikum wa rahmatu Allah".

"Peace and mercy of GOD be on you".
Note: This Salam (Prayer for Peace) is directed to the angels and the muslims to our right and to the left

Step 16
Then turning the face to the left, the prayer above is said again:
"Assalam u a'laikum wa rahmatu Allah".

"Peace and mercy of GOD be on you".

This completes two rakat.

How to spend the last 10 days of Ramadan

How to spend the last 10 days of Ramadan

The last third of Ramadan is the time for the release from Hell-fire, as the Prophet Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam said "O people, a great and a blessed month is approaching you. In this month there is a night that is better than one thousand months. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has made fasting during its daytime obligatory and prayers at night commendable during this month. Whosoever will do a voluntary good deed during this month, it is as if he performed an obligatory good deed at another time and whosoever will perform an obligatory good deed, it is as if he performed seventy obligatory good deeds at another time.

The duties of the Muslim in this last third of Ramadan are to try his best to perfect his fasting, to avoid any shortcomings or sins that can harm his fasting, to offer more prayers, preferably in congregation, to advance in reading the Qur'an, making dhikr, reciting of Darood shareef and helping others to be more committed to religion, to enter itikaf (seclusion) if it is possible for him/her, and to remember that the Prophet Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam used to give extra attention to the last ten days of Ramadan. He Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam could hardly sleep, and his family used also to stay in vigilance with him. The Prophet Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam's generosity in this month and particularly in the last ten days was compared to a fast wind.

We should not miss to remind you and all Muslims to try to settle disputes. It is the best occasion to forgive one another and forget about all enmities and grudges. We should come out of Ramadan in a better shape, understanding, and moral behavior. The Prophet Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam made it clear that "If any Muslim comes out of Ramadan without gaining forgiveness and goodness, he/she is a real loser."
Sunnat in our Day-to-day life

Sunnat in our Day-to-day life

It has been proven from experience that by acting upon these three sunnats, which are very easy as far as amal is concerned, but are very important in this respect, that by acting upon them, one shall witness the blessings that will be achieved. Also, a desire to act upon the sunnah will enter ones heart and it will become easy to practice upon the entire sunnah inshAllah!

First Sunnat

Make a lot of Salaam (Muslim Greeting) and be the first to make Salaam, Make a lot of Salaam means to greet each and every Muslim irrespective of whether you know him or not, Be the first to make Salaam means we should always make an effort to beat the other person at making Salaam.

Second Sunnat

Begin every 'good' action from the right and enter every 'good' place with the right similarly, begin every 'bad' action from the left and enter every 'bad' place with the left for eg. a masjid is a 'good' place so we should enter with the right foot - when leaving the masjid we should first take out the left foot - when wearing clothes we should begin from the right and when taking off our clothes we should begin with the left - when entering the toilet, we should enter with the left foot and leave with the right foot.

Third Sunnat

Make a lot of Zikrullah (remembrance of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala). During the day recite one tasbeeh of Kalima tayiba - one tasbeeh of Istighfaar - one tasbeeh of Durood Shareef with this intention that the love for Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'alashould increase in our hearts and the love for everything else besides Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala should come out of our hearts. When walking uphill, upstairs we should recite Allah ho Akbar when walking downhill we should recite SubhanAllah and when walking upon flat ground we should recite La ilaaha illah lah

Endeavour to learn and practice upon these sunnats and teach your children InshAllah.

Account of the Last Hour (Kayamat)

Account of the Last Hour (Kayamat)

As stated in Sahih-Muslim:

An-Nawwas b. Sam'an reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) made a mention of the Dajjal one day in the morning. He sometimes described him to be insignificant and sometimes described (his turmoil) as very significant rand we felt) as if he were in the cluster of the date-palm trees.

When we went to him (to the Holy Prophet) in the evening and he read (the signs of fear) in our faces, he said: What is the matter with you?

We said: Allah's Messenger, you made a mention of the Dajjal in the morning (sometimes describing him) to be insignificant and sometimes very important, until we began to think as if he were present in some (near) part of the cluster of the datpalm trees.

Thereupon he said: I harbour fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among on, I shall contend with him on your behalf, but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you, a man must contend on his own behalf and Allah would take care of every Muslim on my behalf (and safeguard him against his evil).

He (Dajjal) would be a young man with twisted, contracted hair, and a blind eye. I compare him to 'Abd-ul-'Uzza b. Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Sura Kahf (xviii.).

He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere (to the path of Truth).

We said: Allah's Messenger, how long would he stay on the earth?

He said.. For forty days, one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days.

We said: Allah's Messenger, would one day's prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year?

Thereupon he said: No, but you must make an estimate of time (and then observe prayer).

We said: Allah's Messenger, how quickly would he walk upon the earth?

Thereupon he said: Like cloud driven by the wind. He would come to the people and invite them (to a wrong religion) and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then in the evening, their posturing animals would come to them with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched.

He would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and nothing would be lef t with them in the form of wealth.

He would then walk through the waste, land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures, and the treasures would come out and collect (themselves) before him like the swarm of bees.

He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces and (make these pieces lie at a distance which is generally) between the archer and his target.

He would then call (that young man) and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming (with happiness) and it would at this very time that Allah would send Christ, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damscus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels.

When he would lower his head, there would fall beads of perspiration from his head, and when he would raise it up, beads like pearls would scatter from it. Every non-believer who would smell the odour of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he would be able to see.

He would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected would come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words:

I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur, and then Allah would send Gog and Magog and they would swarm down from every slope.

The first of them would pass the lake of Tibering and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass, he would say: There was once water there. Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here (at Tur, and they would be so much hard pressed) that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one hundred dinirs and Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would supplicate Allah, Who would send to them insects (which would attack their necks) and in the morning they would perish like one single person.

Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then come down to the earth and they would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then again beseech Allah, Who would send birds whose necks would be like those of bactrin camels and they would carry them and throw them where God would will.

Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or (the tent of) camels' hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror.

Then the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and, as a result thereof, there would grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of persons would be able to eat that, and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it.

And the milch camel would give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe would be able to drink out of that and the milch sheep would give so much milk that the whole family would be able to drink out of that and at that time Allah would send a pleasant wind which would soothe (people) even under their armpits, and would take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked would survive who would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them.
