Information on Zakat - Punishments for not paying Zakat

Information on Zakat - Punishments for not paying Zakat

Allah's Name (we) begin with, The Compassionate Most Merciful

As Salaatu Was Salaamu Alaika Ya Rasool'Allah
صلٰى الله عليه و سلم

The month of Ramadaan has arrived. One of our obligations is to discharge our Zakaat correctly. I will share with you a few verses of the Holy Qur’an and some Ahadith which speak about the catastrophic result of not paying Zakaat. Not paying Zakaat is one of the main reasons for the failure of a business or for loss of money and goods. It is also very important to make sure that you give your Zakaat to the proper recipients and appoint righteous ones to utilise your Zakaat for proper Deeni Reasons. The following discussion should prompt us to think carefully about the importance of paying our Zakaat correctly, and the importance of giving it in proper hands.

Almighty Allah says,

‘You can never reach true virtue until you do not spend the things most cherished to you, in the way of Allah; And Allah is (All) Aware of all which you spend.’  [Surah Aal Imraan, Verse 92]

Allah Says,

‘And those who are miserly in that, which Allah has bestowed upon them by His Grace, should never regard this as good for them; but it is bad for them.  Soon, that in which they were miserly will become the noose around their necks on the Day of Qiyaamat.’  [Surah Aal Imran, Verse 180]

Hazrat Abu Hurairah mentions, ‘The wealth for which the Zakaat was not discharged will appear on the day of Qiyaamat in the form of a bald-headed snake.  It will chase (pursue) its owner and he will flee (from it), until he thrusts his fingers into its mouth.’ [Musnad Imam Ahmad] i.e. It will attack him viciously.

Hazrat Farooq-e-Azam Radi Allahu anhu reported that Rasoolullah Sall Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, ‘That wealth which is ruined in dryness and wetness, is ruined due to not discharging Zakaat.’ [Tabrani reported in Awsat]

Hazrat Buraidah Radi Allahu anhu reported that Rasoolullah Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam said, ‘Allah will afflict a nation who does not pay its Zakaat, with drought.’ [Tabrani reported in Awsat]

It is reported from Ahnaf bin Qais that Sayyiduna Abu Zarr Radi Allahu anhu said, ‘An intensely hot stone from the fire of hell will be placed on the tip of their breasts (i.e. those who shirk Zakaat), which will break through the chest and exit from the shoulder, and it will (then) be placed on the shoulder bone, causing it to break through the bones and exit from the chest.’ [Bukhari, Muslim]

It is also mentioned in Sahih Muslim Shareef, that (Abu Zarr Radi Allahu anhu) says, I heard Nabi Kareem Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam saying, ‘It will break through the backbone and exit from the side, and it will break through the nape and exit from the forehead.’

Law:  It is impermissible to give Zakaat to a Bud-Mazhab (deviants).  [Durr-e-Mukhtar Vol.2 Pg.96]  When this is the ruling concerning the Bud-Mazhabs, then what can be said about the wahabiya of this time, who commit blasphemy in the Court of Allah, and insult the station of the Beloved Rasool ﷺ and they even publish this.  They are those whom the Grand (Righteous) Ulama e Haramain Sharifain have unanimously decreed to be Kaafir (unbelievers) and Murtad (apostates), even though they may call themselves Muslims.  To give Zakaat to them is Haraam, and strictly Haraam, and if you did give it to them, then it has never been discharged at all.

I pray that this is not the case, but if any of us have not been paying our Zakaat or if we have been giving our Zakaat to the budmazhabs or through incorrect representation, read the above article many times over, and think about what will happen to us in our graves. If you are taking major losses in your successful business, go back and see if you have not gone wrong in your Zakaat or if you have paid it to bud-mazhabs.

Sixty Thousand Sinners Forgiven Every Night in Ramadan

Sixty Thousand Sinners Forgiven Every Night in Ramadan

Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Masud (Radi Allahu Anhu) has narrated that the Beloved and Blessed Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) has stated,

"At every night of Ramadan, an announcement is made in the skies till dawn, ‘O seeker of goodness! Complete (i.e. keep worshipping Allah) and rejoice, and O evil one! Give up your evil and take some lesson. Is there any seeker of forgiveness, his desire will be fulfilled? Is there anyone repenting, his repentance will be accepted? Is there anyone making Dua, his Dua will be accepted? Is there anyone who seeks anything, he will be bestowed what he wishes for?’ Each evening of Ramadan at the time of sunset, Allah Almighty frees sixty thousand sinners from Hell, and on the day of Eid, He forgives as many people as the total number of those who were freed throughout the month."

Allah's Name (we) begin with, The Compassionate Most Merciful

As Salaatu Was Salaamu Alaika Ya Rasool'Allah
صلٰى الله عليه و سلم

Tomorrow here in Durban, South Africa marks the 29th Day of Sha'baan. In sha Allah if the moon of Ramadaan is sighted and the proper Shahaadat (testimony) is received as per the stipulations of Shariah, we will commence Ramadaan on Thursday, if not we will complete the counting of 30, as per the Hadith of Rasoolullah Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam and the injunction of Shariah. We should attempt to follow the strict rule of Shariah in this, just as we are commanded to do so in all other issues of our Ibaadat. We should abstain from following the ways that have been implemented contrary to the Shariah, and especially from pre-set dates for Ramadaan. Allah bless us all with following the Shariah and protect us from following our desire. Aameen

It is in Sahih Bukhari and Muslim from Ibn Umar Radi Allahu anhu that Rasoolullah Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam said, ‘Do not commence fasting unless you have seen the new moon, and do not make Iftaar (i.e. Do not end your fasts and make Eid) unless you have seen the new moon, and if it is cloudy, then complete the counting.’

It is also reported in Sahihain from Hazrat Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu anhu that Rasoolullah Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam said, ‘Commence fasting by sighting the moon and end fasting by sighting the moon, and if it is cloudy, then complete the counting of 30 for Sha’baan.’

Important Law:  On the evening of the 29th of Sha’baan, one should look for the moon (of Ramadaan).  If it is seen, then one should keep fast on the following day, otherwise one should complete 30 days of Sha’baan and then commence the month of Ramadaan.  [Alamgiri]

Please go out in your numbers and make a sincere and dedicated effort to sight the moon. Hold firmly to this Sunnah of the Beloved Rasool Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam. It is mentioned in the Hadith that, one who holds firmly to a  Sunnah of Rasoolullah Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam in times of strife, will receive the reward of 100 Shaheeds (Martyrs).

Ramadaan is a month full of Mercy and blessings

Ramadaan is a month full of Mercy and blessings

Allah's Name (we) begin with, The Compassionate Most Merciful

As Salaatu Was Salaamu Alaika Ya Rasool'Allah
صلٰى الله عليه و سلم

The Holy month of Sha'baan is drawing to an end, and the Holy Month of Ramadaan is swiftly approaching us. Ramadaan is a month full of Mercy and blessings, and a month in which we learn to have Sabr and to show gratefulness.

Hazrat Sayyiduna Qatadah radi Allahu anhu reports that Hazrat Matraf bin Abdullah radi Allahu anhu said,

The most beloved servant to Allah among all the servants, is that patient and grateful servant, who when faced by adversity, he makes Sabr (remains patient) and when he is blessed with goodness, he makes Shukr (i.e. He is grateful).

When the Holy month of Ramadaan arrives, we should strive in the Ibaadat of Allah, and this should be done with sincerity and not with pride and boastfulness. Arrogance in Ibaadat will not give any benefit. Ramadaan Shareef actually teaches us humility and helps destroy our arrogance and ego.

Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Shu'aib radi Allahu anhu says that Hazrat Sayyiduna Matraf radi Allahu anhu said,

Instead of spending the entire night in Ibaadat, and then spending the morning in arrogance, I prefer to have slept through the entire night, and then spend the morning ashamed of doing so.

Importance of father in one’s life

Importance of father in one’s life

Mothers are the Soul of our homes... whereas fathers are their very existence.

But have we ever given much thought to the nature of this existence?

Little is written or said about fathers, even though we understand their value in our lives.

We hardly ever hear anyone talk about fathers...
Mothers are made of an ocean of tears. Fathers are a wall of self-control.

Mothers relieve their pain through tears, fathers only console, and it is harder to console than it is to cry.

Surely the candlestick is hotter than the flame, yet it is always the flame which gets the praise.

We remember mothers as the ones who took care of our daily needs, yet how easily we forget fathers, who arrange finances for daily needs!

Mothers can cry uncontrollably in public, and fathers sob in their pillows at night.

Mothers are allowed to cry; fathers can never be seen in tears.

We can notice the patches on his shoes. His tattered vest is a sure sign of the struggle he gone through. His unshaven beard is a sign of his frugality. He will buy new pairs of expensive jeans for his children, while an old pair of pyjamas will do for him.

While children don’t blink an eyelid when they spend 1000's of Rs in a beauty parlour or salon, yet in their own home, a father may be using talcum soap to shave because his shaving cream is finished, or he might be shaving in just water.

When a father is ill, he does not rush to the doctor. He does not fear his illness but is afraid in case the doctor tells him to rest for a month, as there will be no other bread earner in the family.

Whether he can afford it or not, he works hard to get his son admitted to an engineering or medical course. Despite the shortage of funds he send money regularly to his child at university even some children go on a gala spending spree on the same day the money arrives.

The Father is the existence of the  home. The home is secure from outsiders when a father, in the form of its manger, is alive. He holds the position of the chief executive of the household. He sees, repairs and cares for jobs around the house.

When you announce your exam results, it seems that mother is the closest person to you because she takes you in her arms, praises you and blesses you, but no one notices the father who quietly slips away to the sweet shop to get sweets to distribute among family and friends...

ALLAH made paradise under the feet of your mother but he made the father take care of the thorns under your feet....

♢ Salute to All Fathers of the world.
